A lil somethin somethin

Hello, my name is Matthew “Sobek” Semper. I am a 24 year old professional muay thai fighter that is always on the grind and I LOVE IT. I was born and raised in New York City. I now reside in Phuket, Thailand and have been training at Tiger Muay Thai for a little over 2 years now before that i trained at 5 Points Muay Thai in NYC.

“How does one go from living in the city that never sleeps to living on an island half the world away?” you might ask. Five years ago, I was doing what I thought I would make a career out of which was graphic design and competitive video gaming. After a little over a year of sitting in front of a computer for 17hrs per day, I had put on over 120lbs and could barely walk up a flight of stairs or walk down the street without getting short of breath. So there were only two choices: make a change for the better or die before I hit the age of 30. The change was needed so I left all the distractions of food, friends and ‘World Of Warcraft” behind, and started a new chapter in my life. Since then I have lost a little over 110 pounds and still losing more every week.

I had my 1st pro fight in Thailand in late 2008. As soon as I had knocked my opponent down, I knew I had found one of my callings in life. I was and still am going to work my ass off until I become a household name.

Since my debut in Thailand in 2008, I have had a total of 19 fights going 13-6 with a knockout-to-win ratio of 92% only winning one fight by decision.

I am happy to be apart of a team that is 100% focused on becoming monsters in the fight world. I have trained with many fighters, but the TMT squad is truly something different. Our group is filled a range of personalities from goofballs like Governale, Ray & JJ to the workhorses like Muhsin, Claire & Jonny to the clutz which is me – lol. We are a true team. Putting in extra hours so someone can work tactics to take out an opponent, to being in each others corners for fights; to taking someone to get medication because they’re sick; to us going to the movies. We have truly become family and I don’t think I could ever really move away from all of these guys.

I will be stepping into the ring once again on the 13th of June, to show that the last fight going to decision was a fluke and I will once again start putting guys to sleep in the ring and doing my famous dance move the “Donkey Kong” in the middle of the ring.

Now that you guys have read a little bit about me YOU SHOULD STAY TUNED! So check out the blog, pics and vids about my training, dieting, life leading up to the most important steps of my career.
