Rehab
A few weeks ago I went to see a physio who thought I could have a tear of the labrum in my hip. This really got me down, as that would mean having to undergo surgery and a period of time on crutches. She referred me to a sports injury specialist and I’m really glad she did.
The doctor who’s taking care of me now has a HUGE amount of experience working with athletes, having worked as the doctor for the English cricket team, the royal school of ballet and professional football teams. He diagnosed me as having a tear of the psoas muscle in my hip and has started me on a physiotherapy course that he thinks should have me back to full strength in under 3 months. This was a major moral boost for me and gives me something to focus my energy on. I go for some scans tomorrow to check that no bone came off when the muscle tore and then continue with the physio exercises.
My friends Brian and Nadia will be heading up to Bangkok soon to fight on the WPMF Queen’s birthday show on the 11th. I know that after all the hard training they’ve been going through they will put in great performances. It’s frustrating that I can’t fight on the show with them, but hopefully I’ll be back in Thailand in time for the King’s birthday fights on the 5th of Decmber :)
