Shooters Dundee producing CHAMPS
On saturday Shooters Dundee had 3 fighters representing them at Art of Combat 4 and man was it a great night. It’s the first time since I’ve been back that I have been at an fight event and it was one hell of a show to kick things off. The weigh ins were on the morning of the event and all fighters made weight even coming under.
First off fighting we had Darren who was the opening fight of the night. Darren came out strong getting the early takedown and got straight to work unleashing some GnP landing some heavy shots. During the scrambe his opponant was able to catch him in a very tight armbar causing him to tap. Not letting the loss hold him back Darren is learning from the loss and is straight back into training getting prepared for his next fight.
Up next for Shooters was Commonwealth Judo champ Scott Malone. Scott came out aggressive from the bell not letting his opponant get into the fight. Scott was all over his opponant both standing and on the ground. Scoring takedowns including the most amazing suplex EVER and landing vicous GnP Scott dominated and managed to finish the fight due to submission early in the 1st round. Scott showed himself to be one to look out for in the bantamweight division.
Being the co-main event and fighting for the AOC featherweight title was Paul Wiseman. Being a massive featherweight Paul the first thing that stood out was the size he had over his opponant. Paul coming off of fast finishes was looking for the same again but his opponant Aiden Stephens was in the way. Paul came out fast and looked to use his size and strength advantage going for the takedowns. Securing the takedown Paul went to work on submissions but his opponant defended well and it was a dominating but tiring first round. Coming out in the 2nd Paul went for the takedown again but ate a few blows before getting it. Maintaining top control and working for a head and arm choke it was only a matter of time before his opponants defense crumbled and he sunk it in causing his opponant to tap out. Winning the fight in a dominant fashion made Paul the AOC Featherweight Champ.
All three fighters fought well and done the club proud. So now Shooters Dundee have one Champ and with the determination and motivation in the fight team I would put my money on it being the 1st of many to come. WATCH THIS SPACE ;)
