Roger Huerta
Roger Huerta is a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter with nearly 30 professional fights under his belt. A veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Huerta competed in the promotion’s lightweight division, entering the UFC with a 14-1-1 record at the age of 23. Huerta has also fought in Bellator Fighting Championships and the biggest MMA promotion in Asia, ONE FC. He is noted for also fighting three bouts on the same day in 2004.
A native of Austin, Texas, Huerta was an amateur wrestler at Augsberg College in Minnesota when he began his MMA career. Already an expert amateur wrestler, he recently attained his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under 4th degree Black Belt Fernando Maccachero at Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Camp Phuket, Thailand. Huerta has also trained with legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach, former UFC Middleweight Champion Dave Menne, and heralded MMA trainer Greg Jackson.
As the first MMA fighter to have graced the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine, Huerta was seen as the new breed of fighter and an ambassador of the sport. The responsibility landed him a role in the film “Tekken” portraying the character of Miguel ‘Caballero’ Rojo.
